Why We Don’t Use Rx at Our Gym — And Why It’s a Good Thing
At All Inclusive CrossFit, a leading CrossFit gym in Winter Park, you might notice we do things a little differently. One of the biggest differences?
We don’t use Rx (prescribed weights or movement standards) — and that’s 100% intentional.
So, what is Rx?
In traditional CrossFit, Rx stands for “as prescribed.” It refers to a specific version of a workout that uses standard weights, movement types, and repetitions — often considered the “goal” version of the workout. If a member completes the workout exactly as written (without modifications), they’ve done it Rx.
While this system can be motivating for some, it often creates unnecessary pressure or encourages members to prioritize the “Rx label” over safety, proper form, or what’s actually right for their bodies. At All Inclusive CrossFit in Winter Park, FL, we’ve chosen to take a more flexible, supportive, and personalized approach — and here’s why that’s made all the difference.
1. Fitness Isn’t One-Size-Fits-All
The traditional Rx system assumes there’s a single “standard” for what a workout should look like. But the truth is, every body is different. What’s appropriate, challenging, and empowering for one person may be unsafe or unhelpful for another.
By removing Rx from our programming, we create space for individualized intensity that supports your current capacity — whether you're brand new to CrossFit in Orlando, recovering from a past injury, or an experienced athlete adapting to life outside the gym.
2. We Use a Color System That Supports You
Instead of defaulting to “Rx” and “scaled,” we use a color-coded workout system — Black, Gold, and White — to offer clear, thoughtful modifications for each workout. Each color represents a different level of loading, volume, or complexity, allowing you to pick what’s best for your body that day.
Even better? Many of our members love doing what we call a “mash-up” — mixing elements from two color tracks because that’s what feels right.
This kind of flexibility helps our members learn to tune into themselves, rather than chasing an external benchmark that may not serve them.
It’s just one of the ways we’re building functional fitness in Winter Park, FL, that’s rooted in real-life awareness and long-term wellbeing.
3. We Focus on Progress, Not Ego
At our CrossFit gym in Winter Park, FL, we’re not about chasing numbers or ego-driven goals. We’re about building strength, capacity, and confidence — the kind that lasts.
Letting go of Rx gives us permission to move well, recover properly, and prioritize longevity over leaderboard pressure. We celebrate the wins that matter most: listening to your body, showing up consistently, and building strength that supports your life outside the gym.
4. Your Workout Should Serve You
Our color system puts you in the driver’s seat. Whether you're just starting out, working through a past injury, or pushing performance, our coaches will guide you in choosing the version of the workout that supports YOUR goals — not someone else’s.
You’ll learn to adjust based on how you feel, what your body needs, and what’s sustainable for you. This is training with intention — the heart of sustainable fitness.
5. Community Over Competition
At All Inclusive CrossFit in your Orlando area, we value connection over comparison. Removing Rx shifts the energy of the gym — instead of trying to out-lift or outrun someone, we focus on moving together, celebrating effort, and showing up for ourselves and each other.
This philosophy has helped us build one of the most supportive CrossFit communities in Winter Park and Orlando — a space where inclusive fitness is more than a buzzword. It’s how we train, coach, and grow.
The Bottom Line
We believe CrossFit should meet you where you are — not force you to meet a standard that doesn’t reflect your body, life, or needs.
At All Inclusive CrossFit, we’ve left Rx behind to build something better:
- A supportive, inclusive environment
- A workout structure that grows with you
- A culture of functional fitness, self-awareness, and care
- A community where sustainable health and long-term results come first
This is what makes us different from other Winter Park gyms — and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
